Aloha Ramen in Seattle

I found the best ramen place in Seattle, Aloha Ramen!  I been on a quest for a good bowl of ramen for years in Seattle and finally discovered Aloha Ramen in Seattle by a recommendation from a friend.  I packed my appetite and anticipation and went to check it out with couple of my friends.

We got there just in time for their door to open for dinner, which is 5pm to 9pm.  My first impression was that Aloha Ramen is unpretentious and that it is extremely TINY restaurant.  There were several small tables, mainly for party of two and a bar seating for about four people, but I’m not joking when I say it is tiny.  We were greeted and seated right away by the owners and a waiter who were all very welcoming. Although we were the first people in, both walk-ins and phone orders quickly came in.

They offer diverse array of ramen dishes plus few other miscellaneous items like gyozas.  Torn between the miso ramen and kimchee mochi ramen, I went with the latter along with side of garlic fried rice and homemade gyozas.  We were very impressed at the quick service despite how busy they were!  First came the home made gyozas and garlic fried rice served as appetizers.  Yummy!

Finally time for my ramen!  Along with sizeable portion of pork and tofu, there were abundant and diverse array of veggies, toppings, and mochi (dduk in Korean) in my kimchee mochi ramen.  Broth was rich in flavor, but not overwhelming and noodles had perfect texture combination of just enough chewiness and firmness.  Presentation was delightful and flavor, even better.  They served us generous portions with high quality ingredients and home style cooking with so much love into each and every dish.

With limited seating, parking, and small tables, this place won’t be able to accommodate a big party.  But who doesn’t love a mom and pop store?  Service was incredibly friendly and fast, they treated us like a family.  You must bring your appetite but leave your assumptions about ramen at home!  I’m a fan of Aloha Ramen in Seattle!
